Today we’re celebrating the release of BRAZEN by Christina Farley! BRAZEN is the third and final book in the Gilded series about a sixteen-year old girl who must use her martial art skills and wits to save her family, friends, and country from an evil Korean god. My sister, Bianca, will be guest reviewing the book for us!

Hey everyone! Bianca here, and I’m really excited to be sharing my thoughts on the book Brazen
by Christina Farley! Now if you don’t mind, I’m just going to jump right into this review:
Overall, I really enjoyed the story that Christina so wonderfully wrote down and would rate this book five stars! No matter how much I rack my brain, I can’t seem to think of anything that bothered me throughout the book.
So as soon as I finished Silvern, I rushed to my room to start Brazen, because ending the story with Jae agreeing to essentially be Kud’s slave is 100% unacceptable.
I needed more of Jae’s story.
Brazen doesn’t disappoint with any of the action/fight sequences, and serves you a heaping serving of feels whenever Jae Hwa is forced to decide between her family, and giving into the contract she is bound to with Kud. Additionally, I really loved the odd friendship that Jae develops with the immortal, Bari, and how she helped Jae to not give up whenever she felt that all hope had been lost.
One thing that I can’t thank Christina enough for is how devoted she is for her family’s safety, along with her boyfriend, Marc. This detail is important to me because, many other writers would try to prioritize the love story between Jae and Marc, and push the family and friends to the side. However, Jae would often prioritize her father, aunt, and grandfather before her love interest in the first book. Although I love a good love story, I hate when they feel overdone, so thank you again Christina for not making their love feel exaggerated.
This trilogy brings attention to the fascinating culture and history of China from the perspective of a teenage girl who lives with her father in South Korea. While reading the series, I dream about one day visiting South Korea, Christina does a great job of creating an image of what it might be like to live there (if there were ancient creatures and immortals hidden in every corner haha). I fully intend on recommending this series to everyone I know, and look forward to reading anything that Christina may publish in the future.
