Top 14 Books for 2014 + Reading Goals for 2015

Happy New Year’s Eve! I cannot believe that this will be my last post of 2014!

This year I surpassed my goal of reading 60 books, although I’m not sure of the exact number I have read approximately 65 books. I think that’s a good amount of books considering that this year was more hectic than usual. Most of the books were great, which made it extremely hard to pick only 14…so I cheated. I have four honorable mentions and some of my choices are entire series…so without further adieu here are my top 14 books of 2014 (with 4 honorable mentions)! *They are not in any order*

  • Legend trilogy
  • The Lunar Chronicles
  • The 5th Wave
  • A Monster Calls
  • Fire & Flood
  • Alienated
  • The Hunter’s Companion
  • Small Circles series
  • The Lux series
  • City of Heavenly Fire
  • The Secret Diamond Sisters & Diamonds in the Rough
  • The Eighth Guardian
  • Mary: The Summoning
  • Wait for You series

Honorable Mentions:

  • Winger
  • Anna & the French Kiss
  • Steelheart
  • Anomaly

This year was an amazing reading year and I hope that next year’s is even better! I’m going to set my goal for 70 books, 10 of which will be classics. I also want to read at least one graphic novel and attempt to finish all the series I started. Another goal I have I to finish all the books that I own, that way my TBR will not get too crazy.

What were your favorite books of 2014? What are your goals for 2015? Let me know in the comments! I hope you all have a safe and happy new year!
